Courses: Orientation to College (PD 101) and American Sign Language (ASL 101)
Information:

  • PD 101: Designed to assist students in obtaining skills and knowledge necessary to reach their educational objectives. Includes career exploration, time management, campus resources, decision making, and educational planning.
  • ASL 101: Introduces sign language and visual-gestural manual communication utilized in the Deaf community. Provides a basic foundation of language structure, skill development in receptive, and expressive practice in a teaching lab environment at a novice-high level of proficiency. Emphasizes increased awareness of deafness, cultural sensitivity, and resources related to the Deaf community and culture.
